Member of Planning Commission to Address Students at IIM calcutta

On 14th December as a part of the Institute Lecture Series of IIM Calcutta, Dr. Kirik. S. Parikh of the Planning Commission of India will be addressing students on topics related to the development of the country.

The lecture is aimed at enabling the students to interact directly with the apex planning body of the country, to help them understand in depth the issues faced by the country today.

Dr. Kirik. S. Parikh is also the Member of the Energy Coordination Committee, Committee on Rural Infrastructure and the Committee on Infrastructure constituted by the Prime Minister. He was has been a Member of the Economic Advisory Council (EAC) of 5 former Prime Ministers of India. In the past he has also been a member of the National Committee for Environmental Planning & Co-ordination, the National Committee on Scienceand Technology and the Fuel Policy Committee. He has a Doctor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master's Degree in Economics from MIT, USA and has been a Professor of Economics since 1967.
