LIBA, Chennai is Holding International Conference on Business Ethics "Beacon '10"
Theme: "Soaring through sustainability"
On January 30th, 2010

Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai in association with FICCI, is holding its fourth edition of Business ethics conference, Beacon 2010 on 30th January at Hotel Green Park, Chennai. Beacon, LIBA's flagship conference, has the distinction of being the only International Conference on business ethics by a management school in India.

The theme this year, "Soaring through sustainability", addresses the issue of attaining sustainable growth.

With Sustainability being an important issue in the country, and as other nations look up to India as one of the emerging economies which shows a lot of promise, the onus is on India to live up to that promise; the one to achieve Economic development with Sustainability.

One of LIBA's concrete efforts to promote ethics is the Annual International Business Ethics Conference (BEACON) started in 2006. Beacon 2010 brings together industry captains, thought leaders, policy-makers and practitioners to engage in a careful and in-depth analysis of the ecological crisis facing the world and how Indian companies can positively transform it into business opportunity and better standard of living for their citizens. It deliberates on innovative strategies to gain competitive edge and sustainability advantage in the global market.

Some of the past speakers of the conference include Mr. Oscar Fernandes, Padmashri Sucheta Dalal, Prof. Johannes Schneider. The speakers for Beacon '10 include renowned personalities such as Vandana Shiva, Joginder Singh (Ford India), Liu Baocheng (Beijing, China), L. Berlage (Belgium) and other CEOs/MDs from Monsanto India, Tata BP Solar, Orchid Chemicals.

The registration for the event begins at 9:00 a.m. and the inaugural session is scheduled at 9:30 a.m.
