ISB Student to Represent India at the International Youth Leadership Conference

Prateek Rajvanshi from the Class of 2010 from the Indian School of Business (ISB) has been selected to represent India at the 19th International Youth Leadership Conference (IYLC), organized by the United Nations. Rajvanshi was selected as an exceptional young leader committed to academic and professional excellence, through a competitive application process.

The IYLC is a forum that facilitates exchange of ideas across ethnically diverse and socially responsible group of young international leaders. Rajvanshi will be a part of the conference along with a select group of 100 young thought leaders from 42 countries to collaborate and come up with solutions on issues in World Politics, International Relations, and Multicultural Business challenges.

The 19th IYLC, which is being held in Prague, Czech Republic will introduce the participants to international organizations that promote peace through various events, such as United Nations Security Council emergency meeting simulation, a mock international criminal court pre-trial, a model European parliament proceeding, visits to foreign embassies, senate of the parliament of the Czech Republic, other governmental and non-governmental organizations, group debates and panel discussion on international security, environmental sustainability, rule of law, responsible leadership and mass media, etc.

"It is a rare opportunity to understand from those at the helm of politics around the world, the critical issues facing them. Together with 100 young leaders from various countries, over a week we get a chance to ideate on solving these complex global issues," said Rajvanshi, whose participation is being sponsored by Godrej Industries.

"I believe in erring on the side of optimism especially when it comes to international relations and world politics, and hope that the takeaways would lead to concrete action in at least some measure over our lifetimes," he added.

Concluded.
