Rural Managers Association, XIMB Organizes Gramotsava ’09

On the 11th of October, 2009 the rural managers association of XIMB kickstarted the most awaited and key moment in the student’s body, the official launch of Gramotsava ’09 that has been the biggest ever in terms of scale and participation since the inception.

Gramotsava 2009’s outdoor exposure was for two days in two rural haats of Orissa, Adaspur and Balakati on the 12th and 13th of October. Every year team RMAX has been able to identify villages that are untouched and unconnected with the market forces and tries and develop an interface through which the village population and key market players would interact with each other on a common platform.

RMAX always has had a strong social aspect attached to its flagship event and aims to reach out to as many people as possible through a dedicated team that comprises of both batches. This time however RMAX unveiled a mascot that would showcase the unique biodiversity of the state that is endangered, namely the Olive Ridley turtle. RMAX shall be having a dedicated stall to talk about this wonderful creature and what it means for the biodiversity and why it should be preserved. To connect to the local people the turtle was personified as Bonnie Bhaina.

The key highlight of the event, major players who were a part of Gramotsava ’09 included corporate heavyweights like Hero Honda, Mahindra, Aircel, Paradeep Phosphate. A unique e governance initiative known as Sahaj would be a new concept that Gramotsava ’09 showcased.

Gramotsava ’09 reported the highest footfalls and received enthusiastic participation from both batches of the Rural management fraternity, the faculties and the local population.

Concluded.
