ANUSMARAN 2003 Where would a Hindustan Lever executive embrace a Proctor & Gamble top notch? Where would ICICI financiers and Colgate marketers find a common platform? And where will Coke and Pepsi top executives have a drink together. And where would you find a group of distinguished grey-haired gentlemen impeccably dressed in business-suits and ties, laughing and discussing "bunks" and "DCP" and "RG", in a way more suited to a night-canteen in a hostel than a 5 star hotel banquet-hall? Where indeed but at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore's Alumni Meets!!! The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore Students' Alumni Committee organized Anusmaran, the annual alumni meet on 24th May 2003. In addition to alumni meet, this year's event has also a celebration of 30 glorious years of IIM Bangalore. It was held simultaneously at ten locations across the globe at Bangalore, Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta, Chennai, Hyderabad, Singapore, Tokyo, London and New York. It is slated to be the biggest event of its kind in the history of IIM Bangalore, the top-rate B-school of India. Anusmaran is a one-stop event bringing together decision-makers from industry and thought leaders from academia. The event was a congregation of 30 batches of IIM Bangalore… Men and Women who make things happen. They met to relive those splendid moments spent at the campus. The discussions ranged from the latest market scenarios to the Saturday night L-square parties and late night chai at the mess after night-outs. It was also attended by the present and forthcoming batches of the Institute, for whom it was a great opportunity to interact, network and be inspired by the achievements of their alumni. Anusmaran this year coincided with IIM Bangalore's 30th Anniversary. IIM Bangalore has come a long way since it was established 30 years ago, in 1973, as an institute to develop the managerial talent for the public sector. Today, it is the institute of choice for all the corporate houses in India. It has grown at a fast pace in the last ten years, aiming to be one of the leading B-schools of the world in times to come. Business World has rated the Institute as the top Indian Business School for two consecutive years.
