Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,

Dylan Thomas
(1914-1953)
Dylan Thomas was born on October 27, 1914 at Cwmdonkin Drive in Swansea, and died on November 9, 1953 in New York. During his lifetime, he wrote many great poems, including 'Fern Hill', 'The Hunchback in the Park', and of course, 'Do not go Gentle into that Good Night'. He is also famous for writing the 'Play for Voices', 'Under Milk Wood', and the collection of stories, 'Portrait of the Artist as a Young Dog'.
