I Am Not in the Rat Race!!!

A push that's always from behind, never from within comes,
Passionless performance making life more and more cumbersome,
Never was I, never will I be in such a desultory chase,
I am not in the rat race.

An insinuation made by the heart would I rather follow,
Kin may become averse; my ways for them would be hard to swallow,
A second time can I this life not purchase,
I am not in the rat race.

A standard set to follow, is for mentality of the herd,
Iconoclasm's the trend that I much preferred,
I am not worried about losing out on pace,
I am not in the rat race.

A blessed mood whenever upon me dawns,
Eternity I cherish in a moment, to the world I might appear forlorn,
The essence of the 'being' gets trapped in the materialistic maze,
I am not in the rat race.
