Around 220 students from 45 B-Schools to participate in CFA Institute Research Challenge

To nurture the next generation of investment professionals and instill the importance of ethics and professional standards, the global membership organization CFA Institute and its member societies host an annual competition for university students called CFA Institute Research Challenge. The India round of the CFA Institute Research Challenge is organized by the Indian Association of Investment Professionals (IAIP).
Around 220 students from 45 leading business schools and universities pan-India are participating in this years competition.
This annual competition was introduced globally in 2006 and is considered, the Investment Olympics for university students. In six years, around 10,000 students have participated. Teams are mentored by industry professionals and their university faculty members in conducting equity analysis, writing research report, and presenting their recommendations. In addition, all participants are briefed with the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
In India, students continue to show strong interest and enthusiasm in participating in the CFA Institute Research Challenge. Last year, students across 32 leading business schools gained valuable investment experience via this challenging initiative. We are delighted to take this market leading global effort to the next level this year and help enhance quality of investment analysis and equity research in India, said Namit Arora, CFA, Director, Indian Association of Investment Professionals, the CFA Institute Society in India.
Participating teams will compete against each other at the local rounds and the winner will advance to the respective regional finals held in Asia Pacific; Europe, Middle East & Africa; and the Americas. The regional winner will then advance to the global final in the hope of being crowned the global champion. Last year, more than 3,000 students from over 650 universities in 55 countries and territories participated in this challenging competition. The global final held in New York City where Thammasat University, Thailand was named the global champion, and invited to ring the closing bell at NASDAQ.
IAIP, Indian Association of Investment Professionals, the CFA Institute society in India has kicked off its local investment research challenge across five zones in India featuring 45 leading business schools leveraging on the strong support from sponsors and corporate partners, leading Indian corporates participating as subject companies and experienced investment professionals serving as student mentors and graders.
