Manu Anand, who have recently quit from PepsiCo as region president, India and South Asia, may join Mondelez in an Asia-Pacific role..

Anand had quit PepsiCo last week in a sudden development. Following the development Anand had said that he had decided to opt for early retirement from PepsiCo.

"PepsiCo saw Anand's move to Mondelez as that of joining a rival firm, because both firms sell overlapping products like packaged snacks in many world markets. It did not go down well with the management, hence, his abrupt exit,” an official close to the development told the ET.

As per industry experts, there is a splitsvilla of beliefs at PepsiCo—one fraction for profitability, while other for market share.

Earlier, a PepsiCo India statement had said Anand was exiting to 'join another company'.
