Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said Friday that in the next two months, India would see a skill revolution for the empowerment of the youth.

Addressing the 10th India Today conclave here, Manmohan Singh said the government was focussing on a skill development "revolution in our country that touches every nook and corner".

He said every stakeholder has to contribute towards the government's skill development programme and these "include the central and state governments, private sector, NGOs and others".

"We have been working on this and now the recession is behind (us), there will be the skill revolution in the next two months (in India)," he said.

The government has launched a skill development programme and constituted a National Skill Development Corporation with the aim of imparting training to 500 million people by 2020.
