View Full Version : Executive MBA Program from IMT Gaziabad - Full time 15 month residential program
nickin4u 01-10-2007, 05:24 PM Can anyone throw light on Executive MBA Program from IMT Gaziabad - Full time 15 month residential program. Their website shows nearly the same course for both programs and also nearly the same placement statistics. If anybody can shed more light on it - both short term and long term perspective then it will be quite helpful.
My profile:
Good Academics
Engineer
3 Yrs Work Ex in a not so known company.
Any help is appreciated
Thanks in advance!
snigdha1 01-12-2007, 09:20 PM hi
where do u reside??
I dont think IMT executive MBA program is that popular??
nickin4u 01-12-2007, 10:13 PM Thanks for your reply,
I am looking to executive programme because I already have 3 years experience. The course curriculum and placement scenario is both for regular and executive batches. I expect to save on 1 year (9 months) in the process and move on. Also I feel that executive programme are now gaining acceptance and reputation after ISB and the fact that IIM have also started with them giving a recognition to the experienced lot.
However my concerns are again the present industry acceptance, the college itself and the kind of positions offered for such course.
I have not given any other entrance exam which means I will have to push myself for another 3.5 years for completing MBA otherwise.
I will be glad to have your advice on this.

Though part time MBA and online MBA are yet to come to main stream, full time residential MBA program are gaining acceptance in Industry so you can try IMT. But frankly dont use yardstick of ISB and IIMA to measure success of IMT Executive MBA program.
If IMT does offer placement support then probably you can go for it.
what is your profile and what kind of work ex do you have?
nickin4u 01-14-2007, 09:16 AM Hello,
I am not using ISB or IIMA as yardstick but as an indicator that the full time executive programmes have started making a entry into recruiters mindset. As for my profile
B.Tech - NIT, Allahabad
Work profile as a software developer/manager in a local company. (due to family issues)
Good Acads
I cracked Cat once two years back but could not make it through PI for IIM (I have not pursued it since then), now the reason I want to pursue this executive program is to get a break into MNC corp world without slogging for next 3 years (since I have not appeared for CAT this year I will have to appear for MBA,2008-10 batch). This executive program will allow me to enter into job in Dec, 2008. So saves a good 1.5 Years. IMT seems to offer same placement as to its regular 2 year batch in terms of salary but not in terms of companies coming.
At same time I am concerned that this does not becomes a question mark in future because as a general perception people still look forward for you to do your 2 year regular MBA instead of executive course.

ramakant 01-14-2007, 04:56 PM Hey Nick
Just few pointers.
ISB dont market itself as Executive MBA, they sell themselves as one year program only and compare them more with Insead.
IIMA PGPX dont take ppl who have less than 4-6 years of managerial experience.
So when you have just 2 years of work ex, then I wonder if IMT will offer you one year executive MBA program.
further biggest disadvantage of one year program is lack of electives so you might not able to change your profile.
having said that, I will encourage you to go to IMT personally and interact with ppl there to get a first hand view compared to website data. This action might change your life forever so best thing is to go and interact with ppl there itself.
nickin4u 01-14-2007, 05:48 PM Thanks for your sound advice.
I got your point and meeting the people right now pursuing this program is also high on my agenda and I expect to complete that interaction within this week itself.
As far as experience is concerned, they want that you should have 3 years experience by the time of joining and I will be able to manage that.
I have also taken down your opinion regarding electives and shall discuss it with people their.
Thanks once again.
