hey moderators,

how about organising a CA meet. as many other popular sites have it of their own.

i can understand that the members are scattered across the boundaries but atleast we can start with it and then have the regional meets.

we can start with a delhi/ncr meet. what say???

also plz let me know what is the status of case study initiative??

gaurav

hi

in Forums there are two type of membership displayed, since majority of forums use hyped figures, CA dont use it as normal visitor is generally swayed by the stats

i) In majority of forums, who ever is registered once is called a member irrespective of the fact that person never posted or never visited forum for last 3 years or it was a robot registration. Since majority of forums give this no, it creates too much confusion in mind of average user who believes that registered user is a sign of success. and there is no way a registered user can unsubscribe himself

ii) the real way to see how many pp are active on forum say for last 5-6 months at max or have a double opt in list from where a person can unsubscribe himeself and also bouncing mails are removed from database as lot of ppl change their email id over a period as myself went from hotmail > indiainfo> rediff > yahoo to gmail .

At CoolAvenues we count overall list of ppl who are part of our mailing lists as forum is just 10% of overall site traffic and overall we have members who are double opt in, validated and active ~ around 65,000, this numbers keep on varying as ppl unsubscribe and also join ( like somebody who is no longer giving CAT will not be there in list after sometime).

So I hope I clarified

on CA meet it is good idea but we have a large no of ppl who are quite senior and so to have a meet which has right ambiance and right expenditure pattern is an issue. Given our bandwidth it has not happened but we will soon organize one very soon with a very professional touch.

Cheers

Hi,

CA meet is really a very good idea. I would be more than willing to attend it. Please keep us informed in case any such meet. You have quoted the figure of approximately 65000 active users on this community. By now, I think this number might have been crossed 1 lac. Can you please give an estimated figure on the number of registered users and active users. This figure can be even displayed on the home page of CA MBA Forums. Also, I would like to know how many active moderators are presently there in CA. I have seen you and deepblue being quite active on this forum. I am asking these questions just out of curiosity.
