well i want to take advise of all the experience junta in coolavenues related to operations that is it adviseable for a non tech (Bcom,Bsc,Barts) graduate to take up specialisation such as operations and systems? As generally these specialisations are taken by techinical graduates(BE etc).If yes then what kind of preparations would u suggest them before taking up this specialisation.

hi
you can take systems if you are from Bsc stream (dependinh upon ur comfort with comp programming etc, but operations wont be a very good idea.
however if you are very very keen on that, then it will be better if you sharpen your stats and maths skills. main course to look for is Operationas Research.

no I didn;t say that. You asked if there is no background then what to do??
Fundamentally you need to have background + aptitude for same.

hey
plz don't go for ops if ur not BE....
Companies comin for placmnt won;t allow u to sit...
thats 100% sure....
don;t take unnecessary risk
If u r Bsc IT then only go for systems,

You can do MBA in Operation without giving a second thought . Actually it doesnt count after a degree of MBA that whether you are an Aero space engineer or cosmetic engineer. Once MBA is done all MBAs are equal at the time of placement in a particular college. Yes true a particular company can give preference to a aparticular stream but more aor les the benchmarking is done and everyone has fair chances . SO if you feel you hve nec for operations go ahead.

Operation is the chapter of MBA. Operations management deals the production, research and technology management is Operation. Basically, Operation has not developed as a subject in MBA but the chapter we have to read.
