This is my a reply to my own question  ....
At TISS we have this very unique concept of "field work". Under this scheme each student of every batch is placed in an organization for a semester (which changes each sem and is mostly from a different sector from the previous one). The student on each monday and tuesday is supposed to visit his alloted organization and study whats happening there. This best optimizes the concepts of "Theory and Practice"...it's a very novel concept (though TISS has practiced it since it's inception in 1936)......

At times the organizations also give live projects to the students, on successfull completion of the same, some students are also offered FPOs (Fieldwork Placement offers...a lose term for a Pre-placement offer made after the company has seen the candidate's ability at fieldork itself). Eg: This year Marico offered an FPO to one of the seniors. Last year Centurion Bank offered the same to a field work trainee in his second semester iself.

Some companies are also known to "pay" during fieldworks :icon_cheers:...however most don't, since its a part of our curriculum.

Now to the question of 7 placements:
This way we have 4 fieldworks over 4 semesters = 4 placements
Atleast 1 Summers = 1 placement
1 NGO block placement = 1 placement
Atleast 1 Final placement = 1 placement...

Total = 4+1+1+1 = 7 (may be more as some students have started going for "winters")............

In sum TISS = Balanced learning
LHS = RHS (Hence Proved)

Dear friend! you are absolutely right, TISS offers many opportunities to get u placements, its upto you how you make the most of them....!! However her my focus was on the novelty of the ides of Fieldwork which i think make TISS the only institute in India and perhaps world over to practice such a policy!
