Apart from top ten % class, IIMs suck big time in terms of students capabilities, job offers etc.

Probably the potential recruiters had seen the point long back.

For IIMs, Why don't you advertse the jobs or summer placements beyond the initial 30 offers. Sure you guys shock (rock)...

oh frustrated sons of guns!!! o perennial cribbers of our time. It is very demeaning for us ( IIM fraternity) to retort to illogical and baseless barbs, but since the issue on hand has severe potential repurcussions, let me make one thing very very clear. We have made it to the IIMs and you have not. And anyone who know a little bit of brand management is bound to understand that any brand( however reputed) has to stand the test of time and in the same way IIM as a brand is facing its test,but we will come out with flying colors. And this is a very crucial phase for all IIMs since cribbers and all those who have not made it will pick out bits of utter nonsense from the whole issue to massage thier egos and satisfy themselves that it is worth not MAKING IT TO THE IIMs. But truth is as old as the mountains and needs no reiteration. Hence all losers and those irrational non-IIMians have a field day and enjoy the pyrrhic victory ( not exactly since only one side is losing here)... AMEN

Second apply some logic,
for every fraud student there in IIM, there is a genuine candidate in other top ten schools. Just imagine an average of 15 % such fraud candidate...

(Though I still maintain other than top ten % of class, IIMs suck big time..)

My only contention is please refrain from using abusive language.It goes to prove that you do not have solid logic to back up your arguments.Anyway, you might be one of those losers in life, the proverbial ""Grapes are Sour"" comes to my mind. Never mind, you can go back and try to criticise the system as you could not make it to the system.

I can assure you that you can enevr achieve anything in Life, given your attitude, SO try to move on in life , not making it to the IIMs is not the end of everything, You could as well take up some petty job and grow big in lif. Do not waste your time in ridiculing and mocking at the IIMs.....

I agree that I am not from IIM but I don't regret as any other top ten b school product. I must congratulate on your nice analytical skills for in a moment you could figure out winner or loser. I am always convinced of analytical skills of IIMites...

Leak is ofcourse not a good omen for IIMS.
But then you could compare colleges like XL with IIM A/B/C/L
Why IIFT? which ranks between 10 and 15
It is a stark truth that IIFTians give exams like CAT and may be XAT.
IIMs do not go to IIFT levels by a leak thats toooo Far.

Why is ISB not the best b-school even though its avg sal is close to 8.7lac
cauz the avg. sal of batch which entered was 5.5 so ISB did a value addition of only 3.2.
Value addition is a better way to judge b-schools thats why iim-b or iim-k
with 80% work ex. people with avg. sal 4lac and 20% others with what they might have earned 2lac. are not as good as b-school's like IIFT with 70% freshers offering avg.sal of 6.6 hence avg. value addition close to 4 lacs
remember place with lesser no/ of work ex. guys for same avg. salary is better for both freshers and work ex.(not much fight for cream jobs for them)

n for u ash .abt the 90% IIMites being fool .........well hav u done ne kind of m research or some hypothesis testing or wht ????? ........kindly elaborate .............n whtevr they r fools or intelligent, the hard fact is industry prefers them over all other people .....perhaps intelligent people like u ................
so simply putting tht means .................tht evn after completing ur MBA..u will be placed below an IIM wala n thus ur cribbing will continue for lifetime .........

hey guys......I believe IIms are undoubetedly good institutes but there r othjer equivalent good ones also.....each institute excels in one of the parameters ....So the ranking basis as such becomes very subjective...many institutes can stay at the top position at the same time......i wud say IIM A,B,C,L.FMS,XLRI share the more or less same position....FMS is excellent when it comes to placements....

Why r iim students so sensitive to criticism cauz many of them took admission in the "cream la de cream" of b-schools rather than taking the 3.6 lac job they were offered, 2 yrs. and 3lac. of fees later they r offered a 6.3 lac job at iim's who won't be frustrated.
That is why any stated fact that stands to expose the false hype behind iim's hurts them badly.
Maybe they r the best b-schools in india (sorry ash iift is in india) but they don't deserve the hype Prefer MDI,SP JAIN ,IIFT,FMS over iim-i,iim-k
and xlri over iim-l.IIM hype attracts many and hebce for the same level of capabilities u will get placed better in non-iim institues

Hey IIMites! Why do you get so much frustrated whenever there is an issue of IIM v/s non-IIM?
First of all, talking about the differentiation between them in industries, I have personally worked in Industry & the matter of fact is even if you are an IIMite, if you don't perform well, they'll throw you out.
I also agree that most of the big shots in industry are from IIM. But those are the ones who passed out way back, when IIMs had a monoply.
But still, if you compare the top shots of IIMs with the top shots of Non-IIMs, there won't be much of a difference.
Talking about the salary, its true that whatever we hear in the newspapers is an exaggerated version (its true for other non-IIMs also)
And with people already having worked in industries & having a salary of 2-5 lakh, there is no comparison of IIMs with others as far as salary is concerned.
But I also agree that IIMs are much better than IIFT in Finance. But only A,B,C & to some extent L.
Now, about the quality of IIFT! Let me give you some of the facts..
Last year, 7 PPOs were given by TAS. 2 were from IIFT
6 people were recruited by BMC in BRANDING. 1 from IIFT
Cargill has given PPO to only 1 person in history - an IIFTian
Cargill has taken freshers for the first time in their history - all IIFTians
LAst year Cargill recruited 7 from India - 6 from IIFT & 1 from IIMA. All the persons from IIFT were freshers, the one from IIMA had a work ex of 6 years. Both joined in the same profile.
I don't think that you knew these facts (for that matter there are some excellent companies who have blacklisted some IIMs coz they feel that the people have more of an attitude, rather than brains)
