View Full Version : Placemernts at NITIE deepblue 05-29-2004, 05:24 PM HI any idea about the placements at NITIE??? know_all 06-11-2004, 01:02 PM NITIE placement is overall goodf but it is heavily skewed towards IT / and Operations jarea as NITIE is considered to be more of a opeartions management institute and even ininatke they take only engineers. Hence once shall try NITIE only if you are interested to be in SCM or Operations, and if you want to be in fin and be a investment banker, then NITIE is strictly No No. Further these days, all Mgmt consulting firms have their own IT set up and do lot of BPO operations and all these recruit from NITIE for their IT dept, so one shall not confuse this with a regular mgmt consulting job Independent 07-12-2004, 10:14 PM Hey friend, I would suggest tht u do not go by some unworthy opinion of the person who cud not get admission to NITIE ie, "Know_all:. To him I wud suggest tht he refrains frm making any uneducated comments abt NITIE. NITE is a very gud B-school, and the placements are over all the functional areas, but since only engineers are taken here so it gives an edge to them over the other b-school students and tht is the reason why u can see all the IT biggies also lined here along with the FMCG and Fin-instts. Since these guys are very big they sometimes overshadow the FMCG & Fin biggies and hence a skewed perception is created. Not a single person was taken for any BPO operations frm NITIE. Maybe " know_all" was talking abt his own "C-School". Most of the IT jobs are pure consulting jobs or in Business development. For more details u can see the placement report posted over on this site only. I hope my friend shuts his big mouth up and stops tarnishing the image of NITIE. Regards Independent know_all 07-14-2004, 01:51 PM Hi i think any of us who will read closely NITIE argument will see the truth. " NITIE is good as it takes only engineers " a stuid argument, why then IIMA try to balance intake between various streams What i said that NITIE is good if you want to get into supply chain or in IT and even if FMCG comes they will recruit for IT stream only. and how can polaris be better than HLL so overall if you are looking for an MBA and want to get into equity research or brands etc dont go to NITIE . and it is cool if operations is your destination Independent 07-14-2004, 08:59 PM Dude, I got it. U really are frm some Tom dick n harry insti and r hell bent upon Tarnishing NITIE's image. I won't try and impress nething upon u but make the scenario clear for aspirants. NITIE draws organisations like P&G, Accenture,E &Y, GE, TSMG, CTS, Citbank, ICICI,Coke, HLL, Marico, Nestle, I-2, IBM, Du-pont,SAP, Hewlett Packard, AP, Gilette , Tata Motors, i-flex and the remaining like wipro, infy,Polaris etc etc to name a few. And they recruit in all the functional areas rather than ops/IT as "Know_nothing " is saying. So aspirants be rest assured tht if u come to NITIE there's no stopping the growth in career and u'll be in the safest hands. We at NITIE do not benchmark ourselves with ne Indian instt, be it IIM-A so plz refrain frm doing so, here on this forum. If u have lots of idle time "know_all" then u can utilize it by doing some social service for org like CRY. We need a lot of manpower over there. AND FINALLY " KNOW_ALL" I DO NOT WANT ANY MORE STUPID COMMENTS ABOUT NITIE FROM U OR NEBODY. PLZ MAKE SURE THT U DO U'R HOMEWORK ABT THE INSTITUTION B4 COMMENTING UPON IT. WE AT NITIE HAVE LOTS TO DO RATHER THAN REPLYING SILLY MESGS FRM PPL LIKE U. Thnks & Regards Independent gmprashanth 10-06-2004, 12:58 PM hi, i just want to know about the median salary offered for a nitie grad and can lay some importance on the take home sal.. The placements at Nities are skewed towards operations and SCM and incase you are looking for a pure-fin job then Nities is nt the right place .................. Cheers |
