They do impact your career choices if ypu wish to go in the same company however if you wish to move in diff area u can do that. one of my friend did his summers in HR and in final placements joined hard core fin company as equity analyst. hence not much impact steveturner 05-14-2005, 02:16 PM hey ,, Ur summer placement is an introduction to u for the corporate world.. at the most ur final recruiter will ask u some Questions abut ue summer to understand ur insight and sincerity... rest is all ur ability .... all the best... curtz 05-16-2005, 12:23 PM well am currently doing my summers with lupin pharma in marketing/strategy...to the questions asked.. yes questions will be asked to you abt ur summer internship as it's the time (only time for freshers)..where they work in an corporate enviroment in the 2 yrs course...so what has been ur summers profile...how u did it...wut were ur findings...ur analysis...n if at all it was accepted by the comapny...such questions are generally asked... but as zebra has said...it's not that u cant change ur functional preference after doing ur summers...u can well do ur summers in hr n get a final placement is finance..n vice-versa....so in ur summers try to work hard..try to understand how work is done in real enviroment...coz i can vouch for it..wut u learn in text book n wut u face in real work enviroment r not quite same...in some cases can be diametrically opposite... abt stipends..yes it depends on which skool u are..n also which co. has selected u for summers...coz some co.s give the same stipend irrespective of the skool u r in... hope it helps.. ciao.. :D P.S. - my 200 th post.. :D ..still have miles n miles to go... :D |
