Hi ISB Alum,

I'm re-posting this in a new thread, just in case you miss it on the original discussion.

My "statistics" are a bit shaky. I've been in the top 2-5% of my class most years except one, during my undergrad, which kind of brought down my CGPA by a lot. Literally enough for any school to just not even pursue my admission application any further.
In terms of international exposure, extra currics, foreign languages, I would think I'm above average. I'm a strategy consultant, and my only exposure to hardcore IT is the IT client related stuff I've done, which is pretty minimal.

I guess a good GMAT score will strengthen my application...but I'm not sure if my academic performance was the sole reason why my application was rejected the first time.

On the other hand, I'm also thinking very critically about whether the ISB experience is worth it. I am very convinced that I wont regret going there - mainly because of the facilities the school offers, good profs, excellent networking, etc. But very crudely put, I want to do an MBA so that I can get a job that pays very well for less hours than I work right now, and gives me the opportunity to be globally mobile - the latter being of slightly less importance. I am not considering applying to the IIMs for many reasons, but when I compare the two, it seems to me that lateral employment is still not so big in India (even though it may as well be the case that ISB started in a time when the employment market was pathetic...so data may not be representative of its true potential), and then the question of justifying the premium in terms of fees arises. 15 lakh INR is not an amount I can afford for just an "experience" I fancy although I wish so much that it were!

All in all, I'm very confused. And of course, I'm writing this after 15 hours of work, so I'm not in the best of senses.

Will wait to hear your thoughts on this.

Thanks!
