XLent 09-14-2004, 06:37 PM welcome,
curtz 09-15-2004, 03:16 AM well well well...
wut was ur q) rate d colleges according to placements and faculties...
this is a honest opinion and the facts can be checked on the basis of last years ratings in outlook n b/w...
IMI has been been known to have a exceptionally strong faculty base and even ppl 4m iim's acknowledge it...we have been rated to have the second best faculty base in INDIA and not only the ratings proves it but anybody related to the corporate and b-school world knows it...
About placements we may not have as good placements as iim's n xl but ppl...if u keep a track on corporate n placements figures we are way way above all the above mentioned b-chools like....tapmi....fore....icfai...kj...gim...bim... nirma..
if u want to compare us do it with some better schools....
waiting 4 some more honest opinions....
keep smiling....
kv12345 09-16-2004, 09:25 AM Hi Suma,
I think of the mentioned institutes that you have posted, KJ Somaiya and TAPMI and BIM are the closest. KJ Somaiya has really improved over the last few years and the placement has tremendously improved. The full time staff is about 35 members, with quite a few PHDs.. and umpteen distiniguished visiting faculty. The infrastructure is really excellent ie more that 20,000+ periodicals and books in the library, more than 200+ computer nodes and an excellent infrastructure. However the strength of the MBA students is really large ie MMS, PGDBM and PGPIB comes to about 300 students. The avg sal this year is about Rs 3.5 lacs with 100% placement. The insti has been certified with ISO and the fees is far less, when compared with IMI or TAPMI ie Rs 2 lacs for two years and Rs 1 lac for other living expenses. If you manage to find a roomie, the expenses are far more lesser. KJ Som is a value based insti, with emphasis on culture, values and tradition, along with the necessary modernity one needs!..Last but not the least, you are in Mumbai and you compete amongst the best of the crowd, which really makes you good!.
BIM and TAPMI are the other good insti's..in the south and both have good placements, infrastructure and faculty...However exposure in BIM is less than TAPMI or KJ Som
IMI is another insti, however being a Delhi based insti, like all other Delhi based Insti...has lots of SHOW!!!!!!...I have seen this myself!...Being in Delhi based has its own advantages in placement, but the Fees is just too high!!..and along with it, you will also learn how to lie like how MDI and FMS do!!!!!..
FORE, LBSIM, ICFAI etc are just big HYPE institutes..I left ICFAI and joined KJ Som and I am now happy with my decision.
The latest rankings have been given by All India Management Association, which has KJ Som and IMI has A+.
Abt myself..I am an Alumni of KJ Som and have passed out in 1998. There is a vast improvement in the insti, since the time I passed out and now. I now work with Cognizant Technology as a Project Manager. Believe me, KJ Som, TAPMI and BIM are the ones I would recommend to you.
Thanks and Regards
Karthik
XLent 09-16-2004, 03:19 PM Absolutely Brilliant.
Dost, do you by any chance have any regard for opinion or truth. KJ Som is better than TAPMI!!!!!!!!!!. U have had a joint or what. AND I AM NOT FROM TAPMI. Down south colleges dont give good exposure, North Indian Colleges Lie and.....yuck yuck yuck. For heavens sake let that female make correct decision, rather than read u advertising KJ Som. what i can tell you about KJ Som is that these a up coming institutes, but nothing that will help you to a good career. KJ has 100% foreign placements in somalia and uganda.:-)
Dost tujhe PM banaya kisne CTS mein. Isiliye doob raha hai CTS bhi:))
curtz 09-16-2004, 07:19 PM buddies...lets not start d fight of " my daddy strongest " out here.....let d facts prove the day......n let d lady decide on honest ( nd not scewed opinions )......
the various facts about IMI can be obtained from coolavenues only...check out the diary section and cafe section...also there is a thread in b-school interaction forum...
if u visit d pg check out life @ imi thread in d alumni forum...
also u can get the details from our website www.imi.edu
for my dear friend who is from del and believes that v have a lot of pom pom factor...in his words d "show" factor.....plz pass on honest opinion....if u r confused with our neighbour IIPM then i'm sorry....but IMI cing is beleiving....though d fees charged is in d upper bracket but in does not reduce the quality of students or make us show off....v are studyng here 2 b future leaders n v live like future leaders....n if itz showing off then gandhi was d gr8est loss to milan...
let d facts prevail.....
kv12345 09-16-2004, 09:02 PM Teek hai XLENT..thanks for referring me as a dost!..ab zara dost ke baat be sun lo!
the very fact that you dont know abt CTS tells a lot..!!..I do want to tell anything more except for the fact that since the last 10 years, it has had an impressive track record!..the facts can be easily verified...
I dont want to get into any verbal duel with you!..My intention is just to let the person who has asked the questions know "MY OPINION"...I have done a large amount of research, have visited many campuses across India and have also taken part in campus recruitments!..and my intention was just to convey my thoughts and nothing more...
Rest upto you...I do not want to get down to your level of mud slingling..
Regards
Karthik
XLent 09-21-2004, 08:45 PM Hmmm...did some one ever say defense is the best way of offence. ASK Kathik. Well, i am sure CTS has done wonderfully well and i am also sure that you do not want to get into verbal dual a.k.a mud slinging with me. But why dude? is that because your fiction is not a best seller on this forum? For Heavens sake, have respect for 'general awareness level' of people, if not for your own figment of imagination.
Do well in CTS..
CTS ...do take care..
sprite 09-23-2004, 01:08 PM Dude...
as far as I know...CTS does not allow B-School grads to get into Project Management
you end up as a Business Analyst to a project/client such as AT&T,IMS,John Deere etc...
And CTS is very very picky abt the pedigree of its B-School hires..since these guys and gals are directly thrown at foreign clients...
Hence till now only IIMs,XL and NITIE
And yes,I agree CTS has been beating the street in terms of projections and issual of guidance
Growth has been higher than Infy and Wipro...as are the risk perceptions by analysts tracking the NASDAQ,where it is listed
saravana 10-11-2004, 09:06 PM hi,
in my view BIM ranks a head of others in terms of placement.
i feel TAPMI has recently caught a lot of attn as its recent ranking clearly shows and is an instt which one can't neglect.
kjsomaiaya being one of the oldest like BIM has a legacy carried by it.
BIM is an institute established by GOVERMENT , its figuring in Govt of INDIA directory- educational instt in the likes of IIMS,NITIE,IIT,FMS,,,
it has the one lowest fees structure & strength of collobration with BHEL.
my ranking goes like this in placement
BIM
TAPMI
SOMAIYA
IMI
you check up with respective instt websites to figure placement.
rest are instt which i dont feel like ranking as they are in the same cluster.
gmprashanth 10-13-2004, 05:07 PM hi,
