How come we have schools like Symbiosis,ICFAI in top 10 and schools like NITIE,SPJain and SJMSOM out of it?

And frankly the difference between the top school and the next is not quite as is made out to be in the rankings

It is indeed time to get out of the aura that the perceivedly no:1 insti enjoys.

Check out the field and we find that top management is sprinkled by performers from almost every institute worth its name

Advice for freshers who are on the lookout for an MBA education - if you are not in the 99 percentile and fail to get a call from the top 3...all is not lost...there are other schools which are eager to take a look at you and show you the way towards making a difference to both "Corporate" dom and Society...

And rankings may change (even for venal reasons) but fundamentals never change.Look at the findamentals of an institute...alumni,average salary during placements,time to place,Brand Equity,talk to alumni if possible.

i'll request all d ppl who visit dis forum n dis thread 4 guidance regardin which coll 2 join...plz dont fall in d booby trap of dis GR8 INDIAN RANKING GAME ....n make ur choice after careful evaluation of all d factors which make a b-school an elite b-school....like placements...alumni....infrastructure....faculty.. .brand equity...etc etc....

n i can guarantee at least one thing instead of asking d so calld ranking gurus if u ask any present student or alumni of any premier b-school....they will give u a far lesser biased answers...bcoz v know wuts d truth n wuts behind d veil....n v would never like 2 guide u 2 wrong path....itz bcoz kyunki hum bhi kabhi cat aspirant the...n v know how important d future is 4 u....

There is definitely a difference between ivy league, better B schools, B schools and non-so-B-schools. Well, whom are you comparing yourself to, or for that matter your alumni to. If you are considering your alumni to non-so-b-schools. BINGO!!! you are right. But if you are trying that with better b-schools or ivy leagues....me running away man.

In any case, the place one comes from is a sure indication of this mental prowess and ability to put forward logical answers. Dont see them coming from the direction you standing in...

So dude..take a chill pill. The best friend a man has is his courage to face truth. See to it that yours doesnt elude you. In B-school parlance: You are still on maslow's second stange..hope after some donkeys years you will graduate to 5th stage...and hope by that time its not too late for you.

a very interesting debate between Xl and IMI. just wanna add if ITC plan is any indication then NITIE does not figure in this ITC plan, in other words NITIE was not even considered for invitation.
