Hi,I'm a B.B.A student aspiring to do an MBA in one of the top B-Schools in India.

However my past academic record is:
83% & 84%(53% in Maths) in 10th and 12th standard and 92%in B.B.A.

Is it enough for getting selected during the selection process at IIFT? I'm also the college(autonomous institution) topper in B.B.A degree.I've also completed courses in Oracle 9i & MS Office.

Yours marks sound fair enough but its not just the academics that matters here.You stand a fair chance depending on ur performance in written exam, GD & interview.

In the present batch about 51% people are freshers and thats a fair enough figure for u. make sure to read enough bout international business, wto n related stuff.

There is nothing specific about the GK portion and it varies every year. The most frequent topics are business questions(brands, produts etc.), contemporary, a lil bit of history, general awareness. I wd suggest you to keep your self updated with current news (newspapers and magazines). This will definitely help you out.

i am a final year B.E student & an IIFT aspirant too. i want to know what is more important for the admission in IIFT. a good academic record, IIFT entrance exam or interview. i have average academic marks in B.E. am i still have chances for the admission in IIFT. also i want to know when is the right time to apply for entrance test & which area should i concentrate so that i can get good marks. & also breif me some key factors which play an important role for the admission in IIFT.

All are equally imp but if u perform gd in written/gd/pi than academics dont matter that much.Forms are already out guess the last date is already near so better hurry.The pattern is sam elike other exams but speed does matter here a lot. Also theres a section on GK so brush up with the latest news.Lemme kno if u hav som other queries.

I have completed my B.Com in '05 and currently employed with E serve. I wanna take up the iift entrance in jan '07.
My question is
1. Since i am primarily working in a call center and am not a engg graduate how will that affect my chances of getting int IIFT? :(

2. I heard the GK section of the iift entrance mainly pertains to a lot of q's from the export import scene. Is it true? :roll:

1) ur not being an engg wont have much effect..coz iift has fair mix of students

2) yes a part of gk questions are from exp/imp scene but not many...all question asked can be easily answered if u r updated with the current affairs..

but what about the fact that i work in a call center?? I heard call center experience is not counted as work exp.. Please advice.

work ex in a call centre is counted if its not just plain calling job..if u r a team leader, or on the biz dev dept..then da ex is counted..

i'll suggest dont do it..coz a zero attempt might just hamper da selection coz it'll lead to a very low percentile in dat section
