Average placements at Gim are at about 2.4 lacs , Goa should be a good place to have a stay for 2 years so i guess maybe you should try it ! but of course it depends on whether u are already having a comfy job or not.

hi,
the placements of gim has really suffered in the last couple of months..though the quality of intake is not that bad....the main problem faced by them is the strategic location...goa definitely is tourism hotspot....but itz not strategically well located for recruiters and corporates to stay in regular touch with skool....also in the meanwhile others skools who were of the same standard with gim..a few yrs back...but who are situated in better strategic locations...like del/ghz/gurgaon belt...or the mumbai-pune belt....have leapfrogged over gim bcoz of their locational closeness to corporates....
abt the avg salary...visit their website..n see for urself..hope they provide correct figures....also if possible get in touch with some of their alumnis...bcoz they tend to give a correct picture...
ciao...

Hi all....
Many of u may say that GIM has a strategic locational disadvantage..but to tell u the truth ..it has turned it into an advantage... Its nearness and location between Mumbai and Banglore helps it to gain the maximum benfit of both the places.....and in fact placements are not the only things for it..its about learning and the experience of learning.....it focusses on value addition that will definitley help in the long term success...
As far as placements are concerned....placement report will be out in few days and just to correct some of my friends..the average salary last year was above 3 and this time it will touch 4.....
And comparing it with the other institutes.....frankly saying we don't believe in rankings and comparision....we have our style of working and doing things and we believe ..we do it the best way...and also many recruiters believe the same way and so are loyal to us.
Thanks.

congrats 4 getting a call frm GIM..........
its a decent enuf place to do u r MBA.......
c average placement salary figs r not teh whole thing which u need to look at...........
look at the companies coming down to campuses and so........u can always get the best offer or more thn the average offers if u work hardd thr for the two yrs and its a known fact tht many corporates prefer picking up cream frm the lower rung b-schools rather than picking up the last bunch of students left at premier league b-schools........
so tak ea call whther u wish to join this yr and weigh on all u r options

hi ppl.....
Good to see a topic on GIM......
well I was pained to see a post saying that the average salary at GIM was a meagre 2.4 lacs.....
this is all B.S.
the latest figures for average pay are at 3.84 lacs with 1.72 offers per student...
the median salary is 3.78 lacs
The highest salary was above 6 lacs
And the major companies visiting the campus were Wipro, TCS, Deloitte touche Tohmatsu, Zee telefilms, Citibank, HDFC, Bank of America, Satyam, Cranes Software, Batlivala and Karani, Nicholas Piramal, TVS Electronics, Kotak Group, ING Vysya, Darashaw, Ashok Leyland, TNS India, IMRB, Shoppers' Stop, Positive Moves, Ma Foi, Usha International, India Bulls, etc.
While these don't mean that we were the best B- School in India, these are much better than the cooked up figures provided by somebody who had no idea of the quality of education being provided here at GIM. This year's placements also proved to be a good trend for GIM as the next year promises to be a bigger show in terms of Placements. Amen.
Any queries on GIM can be directed to me as from now on.
Thanx
:)
