To score 97 percentile in verbal one had to score around 32
To score 99.5 percentile in total one had to score around 69

Can you pls tell me which institutes consider only the total score & not the sectional cutt off.

In CAT 04 my total expedted score is 40.25 but in verbal it is 6.50 only.

Pls tell me which institutes to apply.

ya its all about cat 2007 cutoffs m scoring 39 can plz tell me m percentile

i want some sugetion.

Following were the cutoff percentiles last year (2007) for various CAT-based institutes.


IIMA - 99.3 overall (sectionals marginally higher than IIMC)

IIMB - profile based( Least being somewhere around 95)

IIMC - 98.96 overall (sectionals around 95 each)

IIML - profile based(least being somewhere around 97)

IIMK - 98 overall with 92 sectionals

IIMI - 98 overall with sectionals 80 called top 1500 odd students satisfying
this criteria

IIMS - 80% marks in graduation (85 percentile overall with atleast 80 percentile in each section - not very sure!)

NITIE - 98.2 overall with sectionals 80

MDI (PGPM) - 97 overall with 80 sectionals

SPJAIN - Profile based (Everyone needs to score at least 85 percentile in CAT)

IMI (PGDM) - 96 overall sectionals 50

IMT-Ghaziabab - Around 96 overall
