i am in my 3rd yr of economics.
i had initially planned on giving CAT this year for practice and then next year: this was because
- i wanted work experience
- i thought i would not be able to get through at the first attempt.
as a consequence i concentrated on my 3rd year and did not put in more than an hour a day for this... now my last mock cat shows a percentile of 98, which i totally did not expect!!
i was wondering:
- should i stick to my original plan and gun for the iims next year? because i'll study then and so do better..
- go to the other bschools like MDI if i do get through?
- does the work exp make a difference or will i be better off not dropping a year, settling for MDI or something, than facing an IIM interview with a year drop??
thank you for your help
nandeeta.

hi

no doubt your mock cat is good but still dont let the mock result drive you.
chk the indicative list

Further mock test is not the final thing, so dont start working on strategy on the basis of trail tests. I think you sahll appearfor catthis year any way andsee how do you perform, and if you get into MDI or any other better school try it, as one in hand is better than 2 in bush. but having said that i must tell you that IIms are IIMs and the diff remains over alonger duration.

atthe same time, i know some people who gotcall from ABCL in first attempt but did not get any in the second attempt so remember CAT is quite an uncertain exam, so keep on firing on 12 cylinders
