there are various reasons for failing of an Financial Inst. it varies from the types of assets to bad Mgmt.
IDBI (parent of IDBI Bank) was in trouble die to the trmendous amount of bad loans or NPA in it's books of Accounts.
Madhavpura Bank was sunk b'use of it's unlawful lending to Ketan Parikh.
Global Trust Bank was the best example of a FI faling due to bad Mgmt.

like all fingers are not same,similarly all failures are not due to a common reason.GRRED is the only common thread behind all.
