i have done my diploma in computer technology
i am in last year's engineering in computer science
i have been placed in TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES through campus
upto last year i always had been interested in techincal side of my field and always thought of doing m.tech,but unfortunately due to some financial problems i decided to do a job and got selected in campus,i wish to do my mba after 2 years of experience from TCS ,i wish to do my MBA IN FINANCE MANAGEMENT,HENCE I HAVE DOUGHT ABOUT WHAT AFTER MBA,WILL MY TECHINCAL KNOWLEDGE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE FIELD WILL GET WASTE,WHAT ARE OPPRUTINITIES FOR A S/W ENGINEER WITH 2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN PROGRAMMING SIDE SUDDENLY GOING TO MBA SIDE AND THAT TO IN FINBANCE SIDE...
WHAT R THE OPPORTUNITIES IF I THINK TO START SOMTINH OF MY OWN

Hi Aditya

In life we pick up alot many things and loose many things as time evolves and same is true for career as well.

if you aim to go for hard core finance i.e investment banking, equity research etc etc , i am afraid your knowledge of coding will not be of much use but at the same time your knowledge of IT and insight into working of IT will help you make a better deision about the financial performance of a company, so ur IT knowledge will be of help in a broader sense.

If you wish to move into business analyst position or BDM position then again you wont be dealing withcodes per se but athe same time will have a much greater grasp on issues that programmers face and hence you will be able to use it.

having said that I must tell that you shall focus more on your path of liking rather than what isthe flavor of season. if youlikefin and you want to b in that just go rather than worrying about the potential loss of acquired knowledge
