Am Joe , a 24 yr old guy looking out to do an MBA soon . I had done my BTech from MIT , Manipal and due to some family problems had to come down to manage my family business. Since our business is not doing really well I though of branching out into something new but sadly there were a few things that was a problem for me.

Lack of maturity to start something on my own.
Lack of support
Lack of thorough knowledge about how a new generation business is to be runNow taking all this factors , I decided not to venture into a new business , so I decided on doing an MBA. I hope I made the right decision . I made the choice of doing an MBA on the following reasons.

To have an idea of interacting with active management industry
To attain certain level of maturity
To learn to assess a business oppurtunity in the right way.
Hoping to meet a like minded fellow student who is interested in the same.

attempted CAT twice second was this yr, and it was great Failure ..some personal, some professional reasons..
Bungled JMET due to sectional cutoff started this year , expect to get at least some calls from xat..and preparing for firing all Cylinders ! for remaining FMs and TISS i had opted for...
in almost all probavility ..i will Attack cat 07 , would look fwd to like minded folks..

Welcome to Coolavenues. Saibal sorry for the delay in posting reply to ur query. I didnt receive notification from coolavenues about ur post and I had been out of orkut for quite a long time. Getting a job in rand management depends on a lot of factors Two of the most important factors are ur campus recruitment and ur rad management aptitude. As far as campus is concerned, i guess I cant do much as you would know better of the companies coming tour campus ad the profiles they are offering. For ur rand management aptitude, you can go thru books(names on a different thread 'brand management forum') , journals and articles and also develop a taste for critically analyzing the various advertisements and other forms of promotions (both ATL and BTL) that u come across. If you dont get a chance to move into brand management thru ur campus, u can always work in the sales team of a reputed product or brand marketing company and move into brand management after a couple of years.

Hi jus read ur query. I feel Courseware wise- IGNOU is the best choice you have for an MBA. Industrywise- ICFAI Flexi Education is good enough, as the Industry recognises the degree. If you are keen to have it from a registered university then, Pondicherry university offers MBA too.

u can opt for TIME institute in your nearby town and it hardly takes 1yr.for your preparation for CAT.
