Hi i am plannin to this one yr pg diploma in LIBA. i want to specialize in international business coz i think it will give me a edge for IIFT. But its only 3 days a week and only for a couple of hrs a day.plus it is 30k. So i was wonderin if it is really worth it? It would be gr8 if anybody specially anyone from LIBA can answer my query. Though I am not from LIBA, but I can say atleast that such courses dont serve any purpose. No doubt learning anything helps in life, but I would rather suggest you to seriously prepare for IIFT rather than thinking of doing a course for the sake of 'gaining edge'.

i don't think tht this kind of a course wud really give u an edge for the IIFT.
its better if u invest these 30k on serious preparation with the guidance of some good coaching instititute for CAT and otehr B-school entrance exams and the time reqd to sail thru the course in preparation of CAT.
also if u really keen on doing some extra courses and since u r interested in International Business just try to get some aquaintances with some foreign languages.......as getting these stuff on u r CV tht u r familiar with foreign languages and if asked in iunterview if u can say tht since i was focussed on International Business so i learnt these languages, it wud create a good impression on the interviewing panel as it wud show u r focussed towards u r targets and aim......... just ponder thru the websites or take help from some one frm the industry and ask thm wht else could u do to acquire knowledge relating to International Business.
i thinku can go thru dailies of other countries and u can also follow the market scenario of other countries with the help of Internet or so....if u really have time in hand and want to do other things.....
these things will increase u r knowledge and give u an edge in the RC preparations and also at the same time good knowledge which cud b helpful in GDs and PI
