I am Divyabhanu Rana. i completed my B.E ELEC. this year and want to pursue MBA. its almost a month since i began my preparations. have joined IMS for the same. though in the beginning i knew very little about CAT (a mistake on my part) but now i am getting a hang of it. though i didnt read much, i have made it a point to read newspapers, mags,novels and sometimes even online (just made a start). went through the earlier posts in here and with that i gather that the only way to improve or crack the english section or even the other sections for that matter, one needs to improve speed and understanding while reading. do correct me if i am wrong. slowly but surely am heading in that direction.
as far as quantitative section is concerned, i thought i wouldn't have any problems but i realised what i was thinking was a BIG mistake. specially since you have to do a sum in a minute or so. the problem i face here is that though i have reasonably good acuracy rate, my speed is rather slow and manage to attempt about 50% of the questions in the alotted time. should i concentrate on my accuracy as of now and let the speed increase slowly (as there is a speed increasing part in the IMS curriculum as most of you would know). another thing is that i find it very disappointing not being able to solve questions and as a result keep questioning myself on and off. is it me or does/did this happen to you all also. i plan to give CAT this year and want to get into a good B-school. do help me solve my queries as soon as possible. thanks
