Hi There,
The following is the Eligibility for Admissions to all the Institutes under CET
"In order to secure admission to first year of two-year full time MMS programme, the candidate should fulfill the following criteria:
Passed with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of backward class candidates from Maharashtra only) in any Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities
OR
Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities"
Do check your credentials against this to know whether you are eligible or not.
Admissions to all the Institutes under CET is Centralized for the First Round and incase You are not satisfied with the allocation in the first round or, if you were not alloted any institute at all you need to approach the respective colleges individually for Round 2.
Regarding MAT scores the scene is like this:
All the candidates falling under the "Outside Maharashtra category" have the options of either writing the CET by coming down to any of the centers in Maharashtra
OR
They can submit Valid Scores of any of the following exams
CAT
XAT
MAT
ATMA
JMET
A candidate also has the option of Submitting both the scores (The best of the two will be considered)
Now even if you submit scores of any of the Tests mentioned above you still have to take the GD/PI.
The DTE (governing body for the exam) comes up with the conversion of scores (methodology not disclosed) of all the other exams into CET scores.
So if you submit your MAT Score it will be converted into a proportionate CET score and to this your GD/PI/PAR/WE scores are added to arrive at the Composite score.
This Composite score is used for Seat allocation in the first round
So, Yes you do have the option of submitting scores of not only MAT but also CAT XAT ATMA JMET.
Some of the prominent colleges under CET are
JBIMS
Sydenham
Welingkar
KJSOM
PUMBA
Last year CET was held in February and the Notifications were out in December (if i remember correctly)
So watch out for the notifications in a month or so
Regarding Sites for Queries on CET
Check out the DTE site
www.dte.org.in
You can also check out the CET section on the JBIMS site
For Any further queries do write back
