How is TISS for pursuing management ?
Hello Friends,
I am Subhashish Chakrabarty, a first year student of TISS, in the course of M.A. in HRM n LR. I did my engineering from NIT Bhopal. and i am a fresher.
TISS has been a dream come true for me. A unique college that is providing me with excellent education complimented with loads of experience. Education here is more Experience than just Academics. Here is a unique concept of fieldwork. Every semester the students are placed with a company where they have to work 2days/every week. Students get to practice what they learn. Semester evaluation is done lot on the basis of performance in the fieldwork.
The student to faculty ratio is 8 : 1.
For HR there are 8 permanent faculty. Eminent industry person regularly come down to campus to share their insights.
Campus placements at TISS is second to none. The median salary for the just pass out batch (2006) was 6.78 lpa highest being 12 lpa. The summer placement has just concluded at TISS. The whole atch got placed in DAY1. Highest stripend was given by Yahoo (rs 90000). the Who is who of corporate world had descended to the campus. Google, Microsoft, HLL , P&G , ITC, Lehman brothers, Morgan and STanley Dell , Deutsche Bank to name the few. Many companies hadto return empty handed becoz all students got placed b4 they came for recruitment.
As a student of HRM and LR ...i would say if yr int in HR TISS is the place to be ...better make fight for it...all d best
