About marketing specialisation

I am doing my M.B.A first year.In future iwant to do my specialisation in marketing division.I aome from a science background.can anybody explain whether my option is right or wrong.

Rather Puzzled !

If you have an engineering , or sciences background, and want to do MBA in Marketing , what is the issue ? I am not sure I understood the question 20 years ago when my colleagues were asking it, and done know the question being asked today .

If a B.Tech in Com.Sc. wants to do MBA in Systems, he has a natural edge. But why shoud a B.Com have the guts to go for an MBA in marketing while Science (or engg) grads have doubts about themselves i not clear to me.

In most consumer marketing companies, the marketing function is packed tight with IIT+IIM types, so I hope that may answer most of your question. If you have a specific question, pl ask directly

you haven't written ur college name and also u haven't mention what subject u taken in ur Bsc .

there is no meaning for mba's as they are commerce or science the main thing is how u put ur efforts in the choosen area , i am doing mba in vtu m a commerce student but the mojor role players in this feild are non commerce background .....know i am an final sem .........

I don't see any reason why you should not pursue your Mktg. specialisation. What matters is not your background, but your attitude towards marketing.

If you are a person who is ambitious, willing to take risks, slog it out day in and day out, work under immense pressures - not for a day, but for a life-time and at the same time looking for an excellent reward vis-avis your performance, then marketing is the function to be in.
