I am interested in doing CFA - US, but i am facing the same problem that Mr.Praveen is facing i.e., study material.

Hi Praveen, where do u live? If u r in Mumbai, cant u try 4 the material and help us out. Some member named godfathe has given the address where study material is being sold. So plz if u r in Mumbai, try to get it out. R u working?

Go to Lakshmi Stationery, near nm college. they sell the notes for 1200 bucks. it would then depend on you if you further need the cfai publication vols as well. have you guys registered for the jun 07 exams?

I request everyone to go through Economic Times News Paper dated..14th Feb '07. This is regarding with the difference between ICFAI - CFA and U.S- CFA.

Plz go through it and get cleared all ur doubts regarding CFA ( Which to choose..?)

I did go thru the Economics Times newspaper dated 14 Feb., 2007...but did not come across the article that you are mentining about. There is no such article reg the diff bwt US - CFA and ICFAI - CFA. Pls can u help me retriving this article. I would really appreciate your help.

forget about articles. just go for AIMR CFA. ICFAI is a fraud

Hi,

Court verdict says thus:
"ICFAI is not permitted to use the word CFA or Chartered Financial Analyst furthur". This is the news which i heard. But, no hard copy news. If i will get it i will send the same.

But wht i say is: " Prefer the course which will be useful for ur life time and not just doing for temporary survival". And u can look at the syllabus CFA - USA which is of internatinal standards and will be valued more.

ICFAI changed the CFA name into CCFA and they have reduced the complicated syllabus. Its now just ALFA, BETA, GAMMA and some 3 subjects to be cleared and if u do it u will get CCFA certificate.

Thanks to Sharmayur for giving the exact place to get the material from and nayna_sm, I request u to plz go through the Economic Times dated 14th Feb 2007 in 3rd page right side corner down that will in a box and says as "INSTITUTE OF CFA, Trichy" Its nothing but ICFAI.

But i sugest to go US-CFA. Any one registered for CFA-US in Dec 2007?
