Full time MBA after 9+ yrs exp?

Hi

I have 8+ years of IT experience in a premier organization .I am an engineering graduate. I would like to ask for some tips on enhancing my growth as I seem to have hit a road block in my career.

1) Is it worth while doing a full time MBA after around 9 years of experience.
2) Can I make a career shift from say IT or engineering Services to Banking and Finance.

Please provide your thoughts and inputs.

Hi BHSK

it is wordtwhile to do MBA after 9 years but dont go for 2 year program. You can look at ISB, IIMA PGPX etc

now regarding changing track, i am agraid that this generally don't happen as u hv certain valuable experience , which u just can't dumb it. You can probbaly use it to grow in certain field. If you hv considerable exp say in IT services and passion for finance, you can go for a equity analyst career with a finance company where u cover IT sector.

I would like to ask for some tips on enhancing my growth as I seem to have hit a road block in my career.( basically missed the bus a few years ago)

I am desperately looking at an MBA to enhace my career .I am looking at a 1 year MBA ( considering what makes sense to my profile) ,I am looking at INSEAD , ISB etc.
Are there any reputed institutes (in India or abroad) other than these for a 1 year MBA ?
Considering my profile , what are my chances in good univs?

I would like to be in a more Strategy/Consulting space than a hard-core Engineering/Prod.Dev area. What are the chances?

for your profile best choice will be LBS, INSEAD, ISB and IIMPGPX, dont waste ur time by going anywhere else.
