Default career advice & best way to achieve that

Hi,

My query is to do both with career advice & best way to achieve that. I'm 26 yr old single working as IT/telecom engineer in US in total 5 yr exp have done B.E ( comp sc), very recently moved over from India.

Unlike most confused person's I do have some aim i.e. reaching director level position in sales/ business planning( marketing) or consulting kind of role . Now the problem is I'm currently doing technical work engineer role since I have been working for quite a while I do understand jumping field is never easy.

I would like to understand what will be the best way in which my 5yr exp should contribute & help me towards reaching my aim. Shall I go for part time MBA from Top B School or just look for a job in the field I wanna move to i.e. sales/ consulting

Personally I see 2 challenges
1. Getting sales/ marketing job in US is difficult being an Indian. I do admit I have long way to go bringing my communication skills up to there level.

2. I think MBA from US b school should be quite helpful since I have US exp adding on.

But I don’t want to leave job for MBA because since I'm 26 now planning to get married in may be next 1yr so leaving job doesn't sound to be good option to me. I would rather spend money doing part-time MBA from good B school.

All suggestions are welcome. Would really appreciate if could mention the +ive & also -ive sides you see in my portfolio.

If anyone has ever had similar career goal & have achieved through proper planning then do share with me or with everyone.

Really appreciate your time.
