Titles to expect for GD-PI and how to tackle GD-PI
A Group Discussion (GD) is a simulated exercise, where you cannot suddenly put up a show, since the evaluators will see through us. GDs are conducted to test managerial attributes like Interpersonal skills, Communication skills, Leadership, Analytical and rational thinking, Knowledge and personality traits. GD mainly focuses on how you are able to put across your ideas and also understanding the other’s point of view.
Not all the GDs are equal. Some GDs test the knowledge of a candidate on a topical issue, some test the ‘lateral thinking’ of candidate. Another type of GD comes in form of ‘case study’ where the applicants are asked to analyze a situation and frame responses. There are three types of GDs: Factual, Abstract, and Case study. The factual ones are based on controversial topics; the Abstract topics involve lateral thinking and unconventional perspectives.
