Default Viral marketing

Viral marketing strategy encourages people to spread our marketing message. A very famous example is that of hotmail, which earned global accpetance thriough this strategy. Earlier Hotmail users were tempted to send a message with a clickable URL in every outbound message. It spread like anything and helped to gain everything for hotmail. Now gmail is using the same strategy, through the invite option.

Note that virl marketing is not confined to internet world. We can give temptations to our customers to give word of mouth messages about our products such that each customer can be used as a sales person.

Regards

viral marketers have always used the chat rooms as one of their favourite playing grounds....remember the various offerings which came to you while you were chatting last time...also reader's digest uses viral marketing as it's main marketing too.....the basic plan is to use the consumers to attract other consumers...so when gmail gives u 10-15 invitations that you can fwd to others...itz simply using u to penetrate more into the market...

ciao..

Many dotcom companies offer reward points or some kind of incentive if one invites his/her friend. Many a times they run a compeition which involves inviting user as one important activity and offer a lucrative cash prize. It works really well for them, they not only get users but user who wins the cash prize spreads the himself/herself there by further promoting the company.
