Distance learning from Symbiosis or Part time EPGDM from TAPMI?

I am a working professional/manager with 10+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry. I want to pursue Management course for the following reasons:

1. To enhance my knowledge of management/business and integrate these with what i have learnt during past years.
2. To add more 'value' so that i can progress in my career.
3. To look for 'alternative' careers (Sales, Marketing).

I am in a dilemma whether to go for part time EPGDM program conducted by TAPMI (TAPMI-CEE) or take Distance learning course from Symbiosis. My frequent travels are the only gating points in against taking TAPMI course.

I will be very grateful if somebody offers their views on what path they would take if they are in my shoes. I appreciate your time.

Hi

A part time MBA will give you knowledge & some fundas but wont help you in switching your career and will help a little in career progression in semi conductor industry. I assume you are in Design or Manufacturing.

Having said that TAPMI can be better as it will give you some faculty & peer interaction compared to a pure correspondance course.

I am working in PSU Bank as a Clerk since 5 years and am CAIIB.

I am also doing CFA from ICFAI which leaves me very little time.

However, I was planning of doing MBA(Banking and Finance) from IGNOU.

But I wish to know how much effort is required to clear MBA Papers?
Are the papers very tough?

How much study time per week is necessary?

How vast is the study material (in terms of pages)?

How many books are there per course?

Is IGNOU MBA of any value for job change?

Will I be able to manager MBA and CFA both?

Please advise.

can anyone guide me from where to do my MBA through correspondence.im really confused between the options of IGNOU,ICFAI,SYMBI...plz give me a clear idea.

Im basically a B.E (Computer science) and am currently working for MNC as a software QA engineer in International Portals.as of now am free from work pressure. can any1 suggest me which one is better and i stay in bangalore.

Hi !

Are you really sure the choice is between TAPMI part time and Symbiosis distance learning ? If yes, TAPMI would be somewhat like a proper MBA and would win over Symbiosis distance learning, I believe in MBA you learn 60% from colleagues and books, and 40% from the institution: so to get the 60% straight, some sacrifice in 40% is merited

But bak to my first question : Why not invest in your own life, and do a 2 years full time IIM MBA
