i am already in trading but want to move on as i wanted to have a stable career, i have operations background and have done mba in finance

NSDL as a career option gives you institutional openings from that experience as a base.

Some people may find it a bit restrictive in terms of career options downstream, as a result.

It is not good option. Most of the openings are in other business areas than depository. Also working in NSDL would give one exposure of one function as there is non-rotational policy. Having exposure at NSDL is a negative CV value addition exercise at it becomes practically impossible to get job in other organisation as one cannot directly apply experience working for this organisation to other organisation.
