4.4 TARGET STUDY

4.4.1 Preferred MBA Programme Type

Interest in the (full-time) MBA at 87% (82%) ((75%)), is back up to the level of three years ago after which it fell dramatically. Many applicants are willing to look at alternatives. Part-time MBAs interested 26% (25%) of respondents. Interest in Distance-learning MBAs fell slightly to 13% (15%). 12% (11%) of respondents indicated interest in an Executive MBA. On-line study, a new category, attracted 9% of respondents. There are no significant differences between the genders in preferred MBA programme type.

4.4.2 Other Study Options

A number of applicants are also interested in non-MBA postgraduate education: 31% would also consider some other programme such as Masters in Business or Finance Management. Other Masters programmes would also be considered by applicants: Social Science / International Relations 7%, Engineering Science 7%, IT / e-Commerce 6% or Law 2%. The number considering a Ph.D. or other research option increased to 6% (5%).
