4.4.3 Preferred Length of Programme

Applicants are now almost equally interested in 10-18 month (1 year) MBA programmes 42% (41%) ((41%)), and 19-24 (2 year) month programmes 43% (48%) ((42%)). There are no significant gender differences in these overall preferences. However, the level of interest in 1 year / 2 year programmes shows significant regional variation. Central Europe 54% / 38%, Latin America 45% / 44%, Middle East & Africa 41% / 34% and Western Europe 57% / 32% all prefer the 1 year option. Asia Pacific 39% / 45% and US & Canada 17% / 72% prefer the 2 year option. These figures in part reflect the typical length of MBA programmes on offer in the respective regions, for example in the USA, where there are many more 2 year programmes to choose from.
