QS Research 1990-2006

Page - 3

Business school admissions officers can request a more detailed review of the demographic profile of candidates interested in MBA study, for more than 30 countries around the world, including an examination of candidate interest in their school. They can benchmark their school’s attractiveness and awareness levels
against those of its close competitors, understand what motivates their MBA applicants and learn of the employers of choice for MBA applicants worldwide.

2. METHODOLOGY AND AUTHOR

More than 59,000 young professionals registered for the QS World MBA Tour Fairs in Fall 2005 and Spring 2006 and were emailed an invitation to complete an exit survey. The questions were categorised under the principal themes of: profile of respondent, study preferences, financing options available to the respondent, information tools utilised for MBA selection and career preferences.

They were also asked to rate the attractiveness of a list of business schools and a list of MBA employers. All candidates completing the survey were eligible to apply for the Quacquarelli Symonds MBA Scholarships for socially responsible leadership (information on scholarships at www.TopMBA.com).

The data has not been normalised. As in 2005, a high proportion (20%) of Indian respondents is noted. The proportional consistency with last year’s data enables valid comparison between the years to be made. Normalised results can be provided on request. Throughout the report, where available, last year’s data is shown in brackets ( ) and data from two years ago is shown in double brackets (( )).
