Job Description:
Role: - The Sourcing profile's primary responsibility is to lead and execute sourcing in the organization. The Sourcing person leads the construction / execution of sourcing initiatives for key commodities spend categories that he/she is assigned to. The Sourcing profile must possess an in-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing process methodology, develop and present insights for the development of commodity sourcing strategies, and participate in company’s cross-function strategic sourcing teams.
Responsibilities: -
  • Assist in the implementation of commodity sourcing management strategies, and execute sourcing initiatives related to specific commodities.
  • Identify problems, determine solutions, identify and determine costs, including all costs associated with the commodity purchased.
  • Maintain current knowledge of market trends, market conditions, and recommends changes in sourcing strategies and tactics based on such knowledge.
  • Create, implement and manage commodity strategies for products / services to leverage corporate expenditures, improve procurement process and reduce costs.
  • Performs basic project management.
  • Performs opportunity analysis to identify projects that will deliver significant cost savings and value improvement.
  • Analyze business processes and determine opportunities achieved through influencing supply and demand of services.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with appropriate business financial teams to analyze, interpret and apply financial policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and communicate legal terms / issues to assist business in understanding and mitigating risk.
  • Develop commodity specific RFXs and engage in RFX analysis.
  • Coordinates negotiation strategies and maintains contact with key supplier internal / external stake-holders at all times.
  • Drive negotiations with suppliers, create and manage supplier agreements for the sourcing of products / services based on in-depth spend and commodity analysis in collaboration with end-users and General Counsel to obtain the best overall terms.
  • Perform supplier business reviews, surveys, and contract compliance.
  • Monitor supplier performance and phase out poor performing suppliers based on Company's established criteria.
  • Ensure continuity of supply and provide problem resolution support in support of business requirements.
  • Deep experience in sourcing, contract development and negotiation, and supplier management for large spend categories.
  • Lead the supplier management process for key commodities and providers with an emphasis on developing and measuring metrics in the areas of overall cost, flexibility, quality, technology, delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • On an ongoing basis, assists and mentors junior supply chain services team members on tactical and strategic industry practices.

    Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor of Science OR Business Degree required.
  • Related experience including strategic sourcing experience in sourcing multiple, large complex categories for major, multi-nationals.
  • Knowledge in use of PeopleSoft, Oracle or other related ERP application software preferred.
  • Must be computer literate; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, and ERP Systems.
  • Exceptional negotiating and communication skills with ability to communicate at all management levels.
  • Experience in managing strategic and tactical sourcing strategies in a multi-facility global environment.
  • Profiles applying for the mentioned role should have experience of sourcing in a procurement department.
  • This role is purely a procurement role and has nothing to do with human resource.
