The incumbent will also have home manager staff management responsibilities for functional staff ,who will also have a functional reporting line into their appropriate area. This will require the incumbent to work effectively with other departments in a collaborative manner.

The incumbent will be responsible for representing the investment community on business development initiatives and any other local issues. The person must be able to engage and work with senior business colleagues whilst always ensuring that investment integrity is not compromised and escalating issues and concerns at the appropriate time with senior management.

The incumbent will be a key part of the support management structure, being the first point of call for all local investment related issues such as understanding of local business strategies, product development, space planning and development issues.

The incumbent will be the contact point for the investment professionals in Mumbai for any investment systems issues with a view to liaising with the relevant teams in Hong Kong / India to ensure resolution of problems. He/She will also work with the teams in Hong Kong to roll out any new systems or system enhancements. He/She will represent the Mumbai investment team’s needs, as required, on various system-related initiatives.

To act as the co-ordination point for compliance, risk management and internal audit in relation to the investment team in Mumbai.

The successful candidate should have the ability to develop a detailed knowledge of the entire investment process enabling involvement in a broad range of initiatives that compliment business and investment goals. Working relationships include all areas of investment management and other internal departments with primary focus being the country of domicile.

MBA with minimum 5 years experience within a fund management company / investment banking with 10+ years total financial / business experience.

Strong understanding of the investment process and how it fits into the overall business or investment processes generally.

Strong relationship building and communication skills. Must establish good rapport with colleagues and be able to communicate at all levels. Must be able to maintain this even if there is conflict or disagreement between the business and the investment business.

Ability to work at different levels of detail, including a grasp of big picture concepts and complex detailed issues.

Strong ethically and able to always act in the best interests of our share-holders regardless of other pressures.

Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage staff in a dynamic and changing environment.

Very hands-on, ability to change gears without compromising the importance of tasks.
