McGill University appoints MD for McGill World Platform for Health and Economic Convergence

McGill Universitys Desautels Faculty of Management is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Lannon as Managing Director of the McGill World Platform for Health and Economic Convergence (MWP).


Led by scientific director, Professor Laurette Dub, the MWP unites leading researchers from a host of disciplines, in the pursuit of innovative and practical solutions to pressing global problems.


Their mandate is to generate healthy social and business changes by collaborating in research and education programs, and knowledge-to-action activities. The MWP aim to enable transformation and innovation in diets, lifestyles, markets and health systems for both individuals and communities.


The MWP also provides a rich training environment for all levels of graduate students.


As Managing Director, Chris will play a key role in setting the MWPs strategic direction. His duties will include; spearheading business development initiatives, developing revenue generation projects and strategic partnerships, management of the proposal development process, including planning and budget development to support the MWPs strategic goals.


Chris has extensive experience in technology commercialization having worked as a biotech industry consultant, and as a scientist developing products for a stem cell and biological sciences company.


Prior to joining the MWP, he worked as an Associate Director of a boutique investment bank in Montreal. Chris holds a PhD in cancer biology from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA (Finance) from McGills Desautels Faculty of Management.
