GD Topic: Are Women Safer Drivers?

Oct 24,2011

GD Topic of the week is: Are Women Safer Drivers?

The Times of India reported October 17, “Busting the stereotype about women being bad drivers, a report compiled by Delhi Traffic Police reveals that woman drivers cause less than 2% of all fatal road mishaps in the city and their involvement in accidents has dropped in the past few years despite more women taking the wheel.”

Does it mean that women are safer drivers?

Hahaha, have you ever seen a lady driver, who drive without any mistake, they drive like they are in free place and no other vehicle is there.

I think women are bad drivers

Mind you Ankush....women are very good drivers and figures say it all. Till September 15 this year, 12 fatal accidents were caused by women in Delhi, against 724 by men, a report filed by Delhi Traffic Police said. Woman drivers were involved in 53 accidents causing injury while the number for men was 2,524. Even in accidents which did not cause injuries, the male-female ratio was 284:4.

if someone is giving the details about comparison of accidents between men and woman then first compare the ratio and then judge this category . woman alway avoid accident prone areas but men ar men they cant . life is not swift or ignoring the ways . here safety measure should be priority measures ..

Sujit You are right. We have never heard about a case in which women is accused of road accident (without drink) but men are men they become accused in every case of rough driving and accident.

Who is a good driver? Gender Differences is always a big issue. Women have had to deal with jokes from men about their driving for as long as they have been driving. But did the conduct come first of the criticism? A joint study was complete this week at colleges on both sides of the Atlantic. The study showed that criticism affects the capability to drive in women. It may seem a simple choice, but confidence wanes when it is challenged. And confident driving is good driving. It damages females when individuals criticize them. (See: http://www.cardealexpert.com/news-information/fyi/jokes-make-women-drive-worse/
