GD Topic: Should content on Social Networking Websites be restricted?

Union Telecom Minister Kapil Sibal has sparked another debate with his comments that religious views on social networking sites should be controlled. We spoke to a few Delhiites about this and got varied views about censorship of content on social networking sites.

 

“Government shall not impose the ban on the content being put by common people on social networking sites, as it is through these websites where people can communicate the inaccessible government. The likes and comments of people show how distressed they are with corruption and the dirty politics,” says a media professional with a leading publication.


“You can suggest comments, impart your views but disgrace to a person is not my cup of tea,” says Sajeet Rajan, Software Engineer with a leading IT company.


“Despite of restricting content on social networking sites government should educate people about its fair use. They are a strong medium of expression and shall not be censored,” Rama Pandey, student.

God please save India... from these politicians...

They can not tolerate the truth. They use to tweet about their anti parties members on tweeter but do not want the Indian people share their thoughts about them ... hahaha what a nice strategy.

i completely agree with the  guest,

Social networking sites have power to unite people to such a extent that they can over-throw the ruling power 30yrs old, and it was networking site that made some Arab countries free.

Expressing ones view should be completely free on social networking sites.
