All about MAT

MAT is the MBA entrance test conducted country-wide by Centre for Management Services (CMS) of All India Management Association (AIMA). It is usually conducted four times in a year in February, May, September and December.

MAT is conducted in all major cities in the country and in leading cities abroad.


MAT Score is necessary for admission into PGDM / equivalent programmes offered by AIMA or other Management Institutes (MIs) who participate in it. The number of participating institutes may vary, as it keeps on changing from test to test. Admission criteria for admission to every institute is different, but all these Management Institutes participating in MAT are either AICTE / DEC approved; University affiliated colleges, University Departments. Validity of the MAT score for that particular session for most Management Institutes is one year.

MAT has become popular with over hundreds of AICTE approved Institutions & University Departments and over lakhs of MBA aspirants having availed AIMA’s testing services in the past six years and now MAT is approved as a National Entrance Test vide Government of India, Ministry of HRD letter no. F.17-20/2003-TS.I dated 23 November 2004.

Eligibility

The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent recognized degree. A final year student in any undergraduate (i.e., B.A., B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., etc.,) can also appear provisionally. Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation, which is different for different MIs / University. 

 

Nature of MAT Test

MAT tests the basic knowledge and application skills in a candidate in various test areas. It is designed and developed to ascertain the aptitude of the candidates to undergo Post Graduate Programme in Management. It is an objective type test with multiple-choice answers. Questions are more direct and formula-based, testing the basic IQ in a candidate. MAT has five sections, each section consisting of forty questions. Hence, a total of 200 questions need to be attempted over 150 minutes.

 

How to Apply

To obtain MAT Bulletin and Application Form by post, send a Demand Draft of Rs. 1050/- to AIMA-CMS, drawn in favour of "All India Management Association" payable at New Delhi alongwith two self-addressed slips / adhesive stickers. Send your

request to The Manager - CMS, All India Management Association, Management House, 14, Institutional Area, Lodhi Road, New Delhi-110003.

MAT Bulletin & Application Form can also be obtained on cash payment of Rs. 980/- at AIMA Counter at Delhi (Telephone: 011-24653382), select Bank of Baroda (BoB) Branches, AIMA Nodal Centres and other sales outlets.

 

Additional Information

Candidates should check and download the "Admit Card" having the Roll No and Test Centre details for the test from AIMA website - http://www.aima-ind.org/matcentre.asp 7 days prior to the date of test.
Candidates may also view / download the MAT Score from AIMA website http://www.aima-ind.org after 3 weeks from the date of the test.

For appearing in MAT, all you need is a graduate degree ... However it totally depends on college weather it takes candidates above 50% or above 90%

Sir, i hav got my MBA form from tezpur university but i didn't get the form of MAT. so, i don't know is the form of MBA and MAT are same or different. Plz help me.

There is no age limit for mba admission, eligibility criteria contains only qualification and marks.
