TANCET 2012 enquiry offices to function on March 29 and 30

The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2012 for admission to MBA, MCA and M.E / M.

Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan degree programmes is slated to be held on March 31 and April 1.


Anna University, the TANCET organizing university, has set up enquiry offices in 14 cities which will work on March 30. The enquiry office in Chennai will function on March 29 and 30. Candidates who have lost or misplaced their admit card can seek help from the enquiry office. Those who registered online and have not received the hall ticket yet will have to produce evidence for having registered for the test and bring a certificate from the heads of institution last studied or from a Gazetted A or B officer of the Central or State governments.


TANCET Paper Pattern
TANCET typically is a two hour duration paper that evaluates candidates ability to identify critically the data and apply the data to business decisions from given typical business situations. The paper also evaluates the skill of the candidate in answering questions based on the passages in the comprehension and also on solving mathematical problems at graduate level (including those learnt in plus two or equivalent level).


The paper also has questions based on determining data sufficiency and written English with questions on errors in usage, grammar, punctuation and the like.

Marking Scheme
The paper carries 100 marks in total. There are 5 alternative answers (options) to every question and every correct response will carry +1 mark; however -1/5 marks will be cut for every incorrect response. Multiple shading will be considered as wrong answer and 1/5 mark will be deducted.

The result will be announced in 4th week of April 2012.
