Job Description:

The Director will lead all aspects of Human Resources for in the Bangalore, India site. The HR Director will be a Keymember of the India Managing Director's leadership team and functionally reporting to the VP of HR and OD at the corporate level and part of the global HR leadership team. He/she will participate in the development of global HR programs and manage the implementation at the site to ensure they are aligned with the company's business plans and objectives. The HR Director will be operationally minded, a strong subject matter expert and function as a true business partner to the India site leadership team and a strong participant in the global HR team.
 

• The role is responsible for leading an HR team of 5-6 people and all aspects of human resource strategy, policy and operations including: talent management and acquisition, total rewards (compensation and benefits), management /leadership and employee development, employee relations, performance management, organizational development/effectiveness and succession planning. Specifically, this person will work with all levels of the organization to establish a strong "great place to work" culture and enhance organizational capability and effectiveness, working closely with the corporate and global HR team to ensure consistency of philosophy and models.
• This role is pivotal in developing and implementing a proactive approach to recruiting, workforce planning, and immigration management to remain competitive in attracting and retaining top talent.
• The role will focus on driving and maintaining high employee engagement through the HR and India Site leadership teams by defining, developing, and facilitating an overall "great place to work" strategy across the organization.
• Other focus areas are talent management and development/training, aligned with the company's vision values and culture, to ensure the organization has the appropriate capability and bench strength to deliver business objectives across all levels of the organization.
• The HR Director will administer the company performance management and reward systems and ensure they are aligned with both the "what and how" -- an individual's performance results combined with their behavior.
• Related to culture and organizational effectiveness, the role will take a lead in deploying solutions to all internal site management teams to improve the effectiveness of their organization. Help nurture a cultureof Ownership and Accountability across various functions in the organization helping deliver business objectives.

FOCUS AREAS
• Establish a strong collaborative relationship with the Site Leadership Team, Corporate and Regional HR teams and other global functions within
• Be an effective spokesperson and champion for the HR team.
• Serve as senior advisor and counsel to the Site Managing Director/VP of Engineering, as well as an advisor to other leadership and management on all aspects of human resources.
• Assist in the planning and development of the appropriate organizational alignment and structures, architecture and support systems to help the Site and Company achieve its ongoing opportunities and objectives.
• Provide overall leadership to the HR team and build a Site HR strategy to drive an integrated talent management and development/training agenda to support the overall talent goals for each business organization.
• Ensure useful succession planning, leadership and employee development/training, pipeline recruiting and performance management processes to support the corporate model.
• Lead and execute an appropriate regional market competitive total reward strategy that enables the company to hire, develop, retain and reward talent and execute strategic objectives. Ensure that there is alignment to the company's compensation philosophy approach to managing the overall compensation strategy for base, short term and long term variable pay is market competitive and consistent with business strategy. Work closely with the Corporate HR Compensation Director and proactively lead the company's regional efforts in shaping the site's total reward strategy and compensation programs to attract and retain a highly motivated workforce.
• Work with Corporate HR to build and implement appropriate HR policies, processes and systems to support the organizations on-going growth. Provide the appropriate day-to-day operational and strategic support to the HR team so the HR unit is highly responsive and proactive on a regular ongoing basis.
• Engage with Corporate HR to participate in the design and implement at the Site a comprehensive leadership development & talent development strategy, including the identification of high potential talent.
• Leverage and improve to the existing local and global tools infrastructure and organizational policies to make truly a "Great Place to Work" and create that perception internally with employees and externally in the industry.

Candidate Profile:

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
• The successful candidate will be an operationally oriented, broad-based businessperson with strategic insight and proven, in-depth experience in leading a human resource team and function in a fast growing business. He/She will have a track record of success contributing to the senior management team, as well as working from a geographic remote Site with the headquarters of public companies. Telecommunications and high tech experience will be considered a plus.

• In addition to strong business acumen, the role will have a sound technical background in traditional HR competencies skilled in both devising and deploying HR operations, systems, processes and strategy. The successful candidate must be proactive, flexible and capable of suggesting and effectively introducing alternatives to current HR practices. He/She will be "ahead of the curve" and agile in developing both strategic and tactical HR plans and programs and working closely with Corporate HR to enhance the Site's implementation of the Company's vision, values and culture.
• Candidates must possess strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. He/she must have prior experience and a track record of leading an HR team with direct impact on a company's strategic, financial and organizational demands for a fast growing, complex company.
• Proven leadership experience setting the HR vision and building, leading, and motivating an HR team. Proactive, supportive and results-oriented management style that focuses on the development and empowerment of colleagues at all levels – a strong coach to help drive and influence change in a leadership/organizational behavior and operating style.
• Must be highly adaptable, responsive, planful and easy to work with at all levels. Demonstrated ability to manage and operate through change, uncertainty and ambiguity in a highly fluid entrepreneurial "open cubicle" culture.
• A successful track record of developing cost-effective, action-focused programs and policies that reflect future plans and philosophies concerning growth, profitability, employee retention, engagement, development, and customer service.
• A track record of success functioning as a key member of a senior management team, contributing to the strategic thinking and possessing the leadership skills necessary to operate at the highest levels of an organization.
• Experience managing and driving change in a demanding business environment. Highly comfortable dealing with and managing through uncertainty.
• Effectiveness and comfort working and communicating with employees at all levels in geographically-dispersed business operations. An interest in and willingness to be accessible across the organization. He/she must be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and participating where ever needed.
• A positive and ethical model, with strong influencing skills. A team player with a balanced ego. Must be approachable by any colleague in the organization and will be comfortable and effective communicating at all levels of the organization.

EDUCATION
An undergraduate degree is required. An MBA or a Master's degree in a related field such as Human Resources or OD/OE would be a plus.

Candidates based out of Bangalore is prefered. Candidates open for final round of Interview on their own expenses & willing to relocate to Bangalore will be considered.
